Porto is a series of luminaires where the love of nature has played a central role in the design and choice of materials. With natural materials and simple yet beautiful lines, Porto takes its place in the Nordic design style. Cork is a natural raw material, recyclable and sustainable. The cork that we use in Porto is low processed. The cork blocks we use are made of layers of cork strips and not grains. This careful manufacturing of the cork means that the properties of the material are preserved compared with the cork-granulate used in many other products. By using natural cork in Porto, most material properties are maintained, such as the cork’s elasticity and acoustic insulation, resistance to friction, and fire. Cork is also allergy-friendly and recyclable. And last but not least, by using natural cork, the original cork pattern is maintained, which makes each Porto product unique.
